WeSolve celebrated its fourth anniversary with a special event titled "Youth, Politics & Education: Shaping the Future of Greece’s Educational System". The event, held under the auspices of College Year in Athens, brought together key figures from academia, politics and the private sector to discuss crucial issues affecting education and the labor market in Greece.
The discussions focused on several pressing topics, including the challenges within higher education, the disconnect between academic curricula and labor market needs, and the role of youth in shaping a more inclusive and forward-thinking educational system.
Key speakers included:
Panagiotis Tsakloglou, Deputy Minister of Social Insurance, who addressed the mismatch between education and employment, stressing the importance of strengthening vocational training.
Nikolas Farantouris, Jean Monnet European Chair Professor in European Competition, Energy & Transport Law, who advocated for prioritizing public education and improving the quality of state-run institutions.
Nadia Giannakopoulou, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, who called for comprehensive curriculum reforms and a student-centered learning model.
Spyros Vlachopoulos, Professor of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Athens, who highlighted the need for universities to become engines of social mobility by modernizing the skills they impart.
