Nationwide Research on Challenges Facing Gen Z
WeSolve, in partnership with Prorata S.A., conducted a nationwide survey to understand the key issues impacting Generation Z in Greece. This study focused on Gen Z's attitudes and priorities across various areas, including education, employment, civic participation, mental health and social values.
The research provides valuable insights into the evolving expectations of young people, aiming to inform public discourse and policymaking that reflects the voices and concerns of this generation.
In a dynamic event co-organized by WeSolve and Prorata, the “Challenges of GenZ” were presented - highlighting the values, concerns and ambitions of a generation determined not to wait for the future, but to shape it.
Hosted at The Demos Center of The American College of Greece, the event opened with remarks by Mary Kardara, Founder & Director of the Center, who stressed the importance of institutional support for youth voices in public life.
Findings from the nationwide survey by Prorata and WeSolve were presented by:
Tasos Vasileiou, Head of Strategy, Development and Communication at Prorata;
Thanos Georgountzos, Lawyer, Founder & Executive Director of WeSolve;
Dionysis Fotopoulos, Lawyer, Project Development Director of WeSolve.
The first panel focused on GenZ’s role in public life and the economy, with:

Panagiotis Doudounis, Member of Parliament (PASOK – KINAL);
Manolis Koutouzis, Rector & Professor of Educational Administration, Hellenic Open University;
Vasilis Stenos, Founder & CEO of Solmeyea.
Moderated by Giannis Pantazopoulos, Editor-in-Chief of LiFO, the discussion emphasized the need for youth-inclusive public discourse.
The second panel, “The Challenges of GenZ”, addressed political participation, social inclusion, and job insecurity, moderated by Orestis Chatzigiannakis, Political Scientist & Content Manager at the Delphi Economic Forum.
Speakers included:
Christos Lagkadianos – Giatrakos, Political Analyst & Vice President of the Scientific Associates of the Hellenic Parliament;
George Plevris, Strategy & Foresight Manager & Stakeholder Management Lead, Growthfund – The National Fund of Greece;

The event was a powerful reminder: GenZ is not the next generation - it’s a driving force of today, with its own priorities and political consciousness. Public dialogue and decision-making must include GenZ not symbolically, but as an active agent of change.
